“Follow Jesus … Love Others … Change the World”

This Sunday, May 14th, we will be receiving a special Mother’s Day Offering.  These gifts support the UM Retirement Homes Benevolent Care Annual Fund and provides financial and personal resources for residents who can no longer fully pay their way. In many cases these residents have no other means of support and often no family. It takes $100 to subsidize one day of care for benevolent residents.

Click here to find out more about UM Retirement Homes.

There will be special envelopes available at the information booths this weekend.  Please make your check to “St. James UMC” and indicate “Mother’s Day Offering” on your check memo line. By supporting this fund you can make a difference in the lives of these residents.

St. James Family,

On behalf of the 2017 Spring Fling Co-chairs, Vice-chairs and committee, we wish to send you our deepest thanks for your prayers, time and donations, all of which led to another successful Spring Fling event. With your help, our event was able to raise over $49,000 dollars and will allow us to provide funding assistance to each of this year’s selected recipients in addition to contributing to the Spring Fling Endowment Fund. St. James UMC Spring Fling represents a wonderful opportunity for us to gather in service as a church body to serve our neighbors in the community and this year was no different. Through your continued gifts of time, talents, and hidden treasures, our event has grown to provide positive impacts to Pitt County, North Carolina and even internationally and has now raised over $960,000 in its 25 year history! This event would not be possible without each of you. Our church and community are very fortunate to have people like you that are willing to serve in such an unbelievable way.

Save the Date!

Saturday, June 24th at 5:00 pm
Cook-out and reception to honor

Johnny and Susan Branch

for their years of ministry with St. James and to wish them well in retirement.

Dear Church Family,

As we celebrate with Johnny his 42 years of active ministry and approaching retirement, I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider making a love offering so that we can provide Johnny with a small token of appreciation for all he has done for St. James and God’s kingdom through the years. If you feel led, please designate this as “Johnny Love Offering” on the memo line of your check and place in the offering plate, or drop it by the church office by the end of May. Thank you for your consideration.

May God Bless.

Tim Barrett, SPRC Chair

We will honor our Graduating High School Seniors and their families with a Senior Breakfast on Sunday, June 4 @ 9:45 am in the Fellowship Hall.
