It all happens July 9 – 13, 2017.

Serving/Donation Opportunities

Camp Connect would never happen without our adult volunteers and servants providing supplies and their precious time. Prayerfully consider how God might be calling YOU to help this year. Then follow the link below to see the many ways you can serve or donate. Let us work together to show these young people how much they are loved!

You Are Invited!

Saturday, June 24th at 5:00 pm
Cook-out and reception to honor

Johnny and Susan Branch

for their years of ministry with St. James and to wish them well in retirement.

There will be hot dogs and hamburgers and all the fixin’s.  The cook-out is free, but we ask that you RSVP and let us know how many to cook for!  Please call Dana at the church office (252-752-6154 or Dana@stjconnect.org) or click below to make a reservation.

It will be a fun and celebratory evening (and it won’t just be the hot dogs that will be roasted!) Or record it and email it to him.

All are invited!

Please take a few moments to answer the 14 questions and place the completed survey in the collection boxes by Sunday, June 11th. Or complete one online by clicking here or on the button below.  We invite EVERY PERSON in your household 12 yrs or older who attends worship to fill out a copy of the survey. Please only one per person.

Even if you are happy and completely satisfied with the worship experience at St. James, please fill out the survey!

Worship is such a vital part of the church. We want to hear from you so that together we can make it engaging and relevant to our congregation and our guests.

Thank you for your help!

Small Group Opportunity

Our schedules seem to be getting more and more hectic. Even so, many of us want to stay on track with our spiritual journeys and keep our relationship with God strong and growing. How do we do that along with everything else that fills our calendars?

St. James is developing neighborhood small groups to help fill this need, and we are now looking for folks willing to host such a group in your home for at least the first two months as these new groups get launched. Click here to read more.

Or if you are interested in helping us launch a small group in your neighborhood, please contact Joyce Day at 252-752-6154 or joyce@stjconnect.org.

These people are prayed for every week by the St. James Prayer Ministry Team and in countless ways by the St. James congregation.  If you would like prayers for you or a loved one, please call the church office (752-6154) to be added to this Prayer List.  Names will remain on this list for 30 days.  If further prayers are desired following that time, please call again.

Wade and Dorothy Harmon, Dolly Pack, Maxine Anderson, and Peggy Fulcher

Please keep these loved ones in your prayers.

Annual Conference 2017

From June 16 to 18, our clergy staff and a group of St. James members will congregate at the Greenville Convention Center with other United Methodists to participate in the North Carolina Annual Conference for the United Methodist Church. Please pray that God will be glorified and that our church leadership continues to listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

This year, the conference wants to invite YOU to be a part of it! It will be held at the Greenville Convention Center and is scheduled over a weekend instead of the usual mid-week dates.  Bishop Hope Ward explained that the decision to move to a weekend format is to make the events “more accessible” for those who work during the week. Come out and be a part of it if you can!

Please note that there will be limited staff present at the church from June 16-18. Please call the church in case of an emergency and we will contact the appropriate Pastor or staff person.

St. James’ Core Values

The Joel Team has been working to identify and clarify the Core Values of the St. James community as part of a strategic envisioning process.  Our core values are the constant, passionate beliefs that empower and guide us in ministry. They answer the question: “Why do we do what we do?”  Click the link below to view our identified core values:

Core Values

The Joel Team welcomes your feedback. Please contact Alan Gill at the church, 752-6154 or Alan@stjconnect.org.

UMW! The summer is here and there are many great books in the Parlor for the Reading Program. Please go by and get a program sheet, choose one that you can complete by August, relax and READ! You do not need to be a UMW member to participate, we would love to have you join us. Please give your completed sheet to Lynn Gammell.
