“Follow Jesus … Love Others … Change the World”

We do Operation Christmas Child boxes at Christmas time, but here is an opportunity to bring joy and support to children during the middle of the year!  Project AGAPE — ministry to Armenia and to some of our most desperate Christian brothers and sisters — is a collaborative effort of the North Carolina and the Western North Carolina Conferences of The United Methodist Church in a joint effort with the Armenian Apostolic Church.

YOU can be part of the Miracle!

Thanks to NC Conference churches, over 3,000 Agape boxes were sent as Christmas presents for children in Armenia in 2016. Many went to immigrant children from war ravaged Syria.

We are collecting boxes again this summer. Please bring them to the Fellowship Hall stage before June 30th. See the instructions on filling a box for Project Agape at https://nccumc.org/outreach/project-agape/

Additionally, churches donated $1,000 to the AGAPE Cattle Project to buy a cow for an immigrant family, supplying the family with milk and enabling the family to become self-sufficient. Other cash donations help pay salaries for AGAPE staff in Armenia, office and transportation expenses for Christian relief response, and salary support for a priest and doctor in Berdzor … one of the most impoverished places on earth. A donation of $100, or whatever you can afford, will make a big difference. Thank you for your support!

Please make checks payable to:

100% of your gift goes to the ministry.

These practices bring us closer to God and to each other.

To make it more convenient while we are all on the move this summer, St. James offers online giving. Please visit www.stjconnect.org and click on the Online Giving graphic. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Marianne at 752-6154 or Marianne@stjconnect.org.

June is Men’s Health Month

On Tuesday, June 27th at Saint Timothy’s Episcopal Church located at 107 Louis Street in Greenville, Life Line Screening will offer area residents an opportunity to do something that could possibly impact their lives and/or prevent serious disability by identifying risk factors for cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis. CALL TODAY- 1-888-653-6450

PREVENTIVE Health Screenings are very important! Every 40 seconds someone suffers a stroke and yet 80% of strokes are PREVENTABLE! The 1st step is TAKING CONTROL. With more than 2 million heart attacks and strokes each year, and 800,000 deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States.

Stroke can happen to anyone at any age so it’s good to know risk factors and signs of stroke. Please share the video below with everyone you care about, everyone you love (young and old).  Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaxAMJQIPFY

These affordable screening tests are conducted by experienced professional sonographers using sophisticated Doppler ultrasound technology. A Board Certified physician licensed in your state reviews all of the results before they are sent to individual screening participants within 21 days. Our mission is to make people aware of potentially serious conditions that are difficult to detect in routine check-ups. These tests go beyond regular annual check ups and empower customers and their physicians with data for medical management.
