Meet the Alexanders!

On Sunday, July 16th at  4:00 pm, we will have a welcome reception for Rev. Ben Alexander and his family.  Come and meet Ben, Sarah, and their children Thomas and Hope.  We are excited to have Ben as our new Senior Pastor and wish to extend a big St. James welcome to his wife Sarah and their family!

Your influence matters.
Everyone has influence and the ability to create positive change. When you improve your leadership, you impact lives, churches, businesses, governments, schools, and families. Would you be willing to join us for two days of world-class leadership training? The opportunity is ours right here in Greenville.

Jarvis Memorial UMC and Practicon are co-sponsoring a live simulcast of the 2017 Global Leadership Summit on August 10-11 to be held at Jarvis Memorial UMC. We will hear from an amazing list of speakers sharing their wisdom and success while meeting with other leaders and church members from the greater-Greenville area.

Because St. James is partnering with Jarvis & Practicon, Inc. to help bring this event to Greenville, we are able to offer a reduced rate of $129/person for the 2-day event. To register, go to http://stjconnect.org/global-leadership-summit-2017/ and use the priority code SPC17 to receive the discounted price.

If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Alan Gill at the church (252.752.6154 or Alan@stjconnect.org.

Prayers for our Jamaica Mission Team

Summer is finally here! And many of us are on the move with Vacations and Recreation. We hope that your summer is an enjoyable and relaxing time, but that it is also a time of continuing our spiritual practices of worship, prayer, and giving. These practices bring us closer to God and to each other.

To make it more convenient while we are all on the move this summer, St. James offers online giving. Please visit www.stjconnect.org and click on the Online Giving graphic. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Marianne at 752-6154 or Marianne@stjconnect.org.

Enjoy your summer!

Volunteer with Vidant Home Health and Hospice

Vidant Home Health and Hospice is currently recruiting volunteers in the Pitt County area. We have an increasing need for compassionate individuals whom are willing to provide support to patients and their families at the end of life. As a volunteer, you will be able to give back to the community, in an emotionally rewarding way.

Opportunities include:

  • Direct Support: Offering Companionship: Friendly visits to provide some special attention, a listening ear, and a comforting presence.
  • Respite Care: Respite care is an opportunity for the caregiver to have a break and still be assured their loved one is safe.
  • Indirect Support: Providing support in our offices or at the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice.

Training is provided. To schedule a presentation about our volunteer program or to sign up as a Vidant Home Health and Hospice Volunteer please contact Angelina Brittle at 252-847-1236 or email Angelina.brittle@vidanthealth.com.
