Your influence matters.
Everyone has influence and the ability to create positive change. When you improve your leadership, you impact lives, churches, businesses, governments, schools, and families. Would you be willing to join us for two days of world-class leadership training? The opportunity is ours right here in Greenville.

Jarvis Memorial UMC and Practicon are co-sponsoring a live simulcast of the 2017 Global Leadership Summit on August 10-11 to be held at Jarvis Memorial UMC. We will hear from an amazing list of speakers sharing their wisdom and success while meeting with other leaders and church members from the greater-Greenville area.

There is a “taste” of the Summit on Wednesday evening, August 9th at 8:00 pm.  Come and worship and listen to a couple of speakers to get an idea of what the next two days will include.

Because St. James is partnering with Jarvis & Practicon, Inc. to help bring this event to Greenville, we are able to offer a reduced rate of $129/person for the 2-day event. To register, go to http://stjconnect.org/global-leadership-summit-2017/ and use the priority code SPC17 to receive the discounted price.  There are also scholarships available – so if the cost is holding you back, please contact Alan Gill at the church.

If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Alan Gill at the church (252.752.6154 or Alan@stjconnect.org.

Special Project at Wahl-Coates

Church Family,
I am asking for your monetary support in order to buy wood and paint to for my beautification project for Congregations for Children Ministry. I am excited to work on the C4C team because my sister and I both went to Wahl Coates. The student benches on campus are in bad shape. With your help, I can repair and paint them before the school starts in August. If you have any questions, you can contact me at alexandersprague13@gmail.com or Lora Joyner at joynerl@pitt.k12.nc.us

Thank you for your ongoing support of Ricking Horse Ranch. We are deeply grateful to you for the recent grant donation of $2,200 to purchase stall mats (which) will make our horses much more comfortable and our stalls safer to walk in. Thank you so much for all you do for our community!

On behalf of our students and equine partners, we deeply appreciate your support of Rocking Horse Ranch. Please know I’d be so happy to give you a tour of the barn!

Volunteer with Vidant Home Health and Hospice

Vidant Home Health and Hospice is currently recruiting volunteers in the Pitt County area. We have an increasing need for compassionate individuals whom are willing to provide support to patients and their families at the end of life. As a volunteer, you will be able to give back to the community, in an emotionally rewarding way.

Opportunities include:

  • Direct Support: Offering Companionship: Friendly visits to provide some special attention, a listening ear, and a comforting presence.
  • Respite Care: Respite care is an opportunity for the caregiver to have a break and still be assured their loved one is safe.
  • Indirect Support: Providing support in our offices or at the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice.

Training is provided. To schedule a presentation about our volunteer program or to sign up as a Vidant Home Health and Hospice Volunteer please contact Angelina Brittle at 252-847-1236 or email Angelina.brittle@vidanthealth.com.
