Eli Cole

Cole-E-picEli Cole is a force of nature! His enthusiasm and vigor was evident in his singing of “Ain’t Got Time to Die!” This is Eli’s second year with us in both the Chancel Choir and handbells; he says he loves the friendly and positive environment here. He also loves the color green and Five Guys!

Eli is originally from Pinehurst, NC, and during his freshman year of high school there, he heard the Chamber Singers, and immediately decided that his goal was to join the ECU music program. He will graduate spring of 2019 with a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT); his major will be vocal performance with a minor in German. After graduation, he plans to travel with a professional choir.

Music is his second nature and something Eli takes very seriously; he was told that he would sing himself to sleep before he could even talk. Eli sang four years in his high school choir, the Pinecrest Chamber Ensemble, which is an internationally-acclaimed ensemble. Additionally, he attended Governor’s School in 2012, and also was a part of the International Heritage Festival choir in 2013 which performed in Carnegie Hall. “I’ve done music my whole life, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.”

This year, Eli will be singing with the Chamber Singers for the second consecutive   year. In addition, Eli will compete individually during the fall Musical Theatre NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) and in the Classical NATS this spring. Prizes include cash, concert sponsorship, and career management services. Good luck! We know you will do well!

Eli thanks St. James for “being an incredible church family!” We thank Eli for becoming such an incredible part of our worship!
