Seek-&-Pray-Banner

“Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplications for the saints, and also for me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.”

    Ephesians 6:18 – 20.

The St. James Prayer Ministry meets every 3rd Thursday evening of each month at 7:00 pm in the Parlor.
All are welcome to join with us in prayer and spiritual inspiration.

The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 4, 2017. In 2016, our country celebrated 33 years of recognizing The National Day of Prayer. In 2016, our country “rallied more than 48,000 gatherings in churches, parks, state capitals, stadiums and civic centers”; the National Observance of the NDP was broadcast from Washington,   D. C. “into 90 countries with more than 500,000 people tuning in live via web-stream and cable television.” The Pray for America Bus traveled to Cleveland for the Republican National Convention and then on to Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention. The focus of the 2016 NDP Task Force was on government – working to mobilize intercession for national and local government leaders. Between July 14 – 17, over 300 volunteers gathered in Washington, D. C., encouraged and equipped to be more effective prayer mobilizers in their communities and our nation; over 400 different ministries from around our nation came together for the largest “Jesus” gathering in America’s history; prayer and revival was the focus for over 350,000 believers of all ages as they converged on the National Mall in Washington,   D. C. Over 7500 stories about local prayer events were carried by national and local media in 2016! Have you taken in those numbers?! Even though they may seem small in the grand scheme of things, we see that PRAYER IS ON THE MOVE!!!

So, how is it for you and here at St. James UMC? The St. James Prayer Ministry has an opportunity for mobilizing prayer through our Homebound Prayer Ministry. We have many homebound members who would gladly be a prayer warrior for St. James. They need other Prayer Warriors to call them and share with them where their prayers may be needed. “Whom shall I send?” Does this read to your heart? You can contact any of your Prayer Ministry members – Mike Arny, Becky Bagley, Marcia Board, Betty Kay Foster, Betsy Reid – for more information.

You are also welcome to join us at our next Prayer Ministry meeting – Thursday, April 20th, at 7:00 pm. Our next Monthly Prayer Vigil will be on Monday, April 3rd from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. We look forward to sharing and growing with you in prayer.
