“Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplications for the saints, and also for me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.”
The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 4, 2017. In 2016, our country celebrated 33 years of recognizing The National Day of Prayer. In 2016, our country “rallied more than 48,000 gatherings in churches, parks, state capitals, stadiums and civic centers”; the National Observance of the NDP was broadcast from Washington, D. C. “into 90 countries with more than 500,000 people tuning in live via web-stream and cable television.” The Pray for America Bus traveled to Cleveland for the Republican National Convention and then on to Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention. The focus of the 2016 NDP Task Force was on government – working to mobilize intercession for national and local government leaders. Between July 14 – 17, over 300 volunteers gathered in Washington, D. C., encouraged and equipped to be more effective prayer mobilizers in their communities and our nation; over 400 different ministries from around our nation came together for the largest “Jesus” gathering in America’s history; prayer and revival was the focus for over 350,000 believers of all ages as they converged on the National Mall in Washington, D. C. Over 7500 stories about local prayer events were carried by national and local media in 2016! Have you taken in those numbers?! Even though they may seem small in the grand scheme of things, we see that PRAYER IS ON THE MOVE!!!
