“Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplications for the saints, and also for me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.”
The National Day of Prayer – May 4, 2017.
We have a spiritual responsibility in prayer – to pray to our Father in Heaven and to pray for each other, in accordance with 1 Timothy 2:1-2. We also have a civic responsibility to join together in prayer for our Nation, for our cities/towns, for our communities, for our families and homes.
Did you know that we have a law in place that requires our President of the United States to proclaim the 1st Thursday of May as our National Day of Prayer:
FOR YOUR GREAT NAME’S SAKE! HEAR US…FORGIVE US…HEAL US!
This is the theme for this year’s National Day of Prayer. It is from Daniel 9:19 – “O Lord, Listen! O Lord, Forgive! O Lord, Hear and Act! For Your Sake, O My God…”
At St. James, there are so many ways you can be involved in worship and service to God. And even in the Prayer Ministry, the opportunities are numerous and varied. How is your heart calling to you? What is the Holy Spirit nudging you to check out? If you would like to find out more about our Prayer Ministry at St. James, you can be in touch with any of our members – Mike Arny, Becky Bagley, Marcia Board, Betty Kay Foster, and Betsy Reid. We would be glad to share with you. We will have a Prayer Tent set up at Spring Fling.
Our next Monthly Prayer Vigil will be Monday, May 1, 2017.
The NDP service for St. James will be Thursday, May 4, 2017.
Our next Prayer Ministry meeting will be Thursday, May 18, 2017.
We welcome you to any and all!
