Night to Shine

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On one night, February 9, 2018, 537 churches from around the world came together to host Night to Shine for approximately 90,000 honored guests through the support of 175,000 volunteers!

Dr. Norman Wirzba, Gilbert T. Rowe Distinguished Professor of Christian Theology at Duke Divinity School, will lead an evening of food and conversation in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, November 17. Dinner begins at 5:00 p.m. His lecture begins at 6:00 p.m. Registration is required.  Click on the button below or call the church office (252-752-6154) to register.

Dr. Wirzba focuses on understanding and promoting practices that can equip both rural and urban church communities to be more faithful and responsible members of creation. His current research is centered on a recovery of the doctrine of creation and a restatement of humanity in terms of its creaturely life.
Professor Wirzba wrote The Paradise of God: Renewing Religion in an Ecological Age and Food and Faith: A Theology of Eating, among many other books.
