Worship In the Sanctuary

Sunday mornings at 8:45 am & 11:00 am

At 8:45 am and 11:00 am, we meet in the Sanctuary for a traditional expression of worship.  Worship will typically include the singing of congregational hymns accompanied by the organ and led by our choirs, a sermon based on biblical texts presented by our Pastors, and anthems performed by our choirs, ensembles, talented soloists or bell choirs.  Our Pastors and choir wears robes and we read psalms from our hymnals, affirm our faith through reciting creeds and pray together.

We do not have dress requirements for any of our services.  However, worship services in the Sanctuary tend to be more formal in look.  Feel free to dress as you like.

St. James UMC celebrates communion on the first Sunday of each month.

If you are a guest, we do not expect you to participate in the weekly receiving of God’s tithes and our offerings. However, if you are a St. James member or call St. James home, then we invite you to be a part of our missional ministries by participating in this act of worship.
There is child-care available for children from birth to 4-year-old in the nursery of the main building during both services.  During the school year, children of all ages can participate in Children’s Worship at 9:00 am and 11:00 am each Sunday morning.

The ConneXion Service
Worship In the Christian Life Ministries Center (CLMC)

Sunday mornings at 9:00 am & 11:11 am

At 9:00 am and 11:11 am, we meet in the Christian Life Ministries Center (CLMC) for the ConneXion Service. It is a more casual worship experience with music led by the ConneXion Praise Team or the Proclamation! Praise Choir and messages presented by our Pastors enhanced with video clips, dramas and visual images. There is coffee and donuts before the service and opportunities in worship to “connect” with God and with one another.
