Yard Sale

Spring Fling Highlight – Yard Sale!

Lisa Spruill and Lizabeth Collins at the Yard Sale tent last year, organizing your donations for sale.

This is one of the hallmark events of Spring Fling. People line up on 6th Street after midnight to be ready when the Yard Sale opens at 6:30 a.m. under the giant tent in the field next to the CLMC parking lot.

Members of the Seekers Sunday School Class sell breakfast foods beginning at 5:00 a.m. for eager buyers.  Munch on a cheese or ham biscuit or sausage patty while sipping coffee, juice or Pepsi products as you wait for the opening prayer and the announcement: “Spring Fling is open!” The success of the Yard Sale is due to your donations. Here are very important reminders to keep in mind as you prepare your items for donation and take them to the trailers on the east side of the CLMC parking lot:

  • Donations are accepted for the yard sale through Wednesday, April 24. Donations will NOT be accepted after that date. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Items we do NOT accept: mattresses, car seats (infant or child), bicycle helmets, old-style tube TVs
  • Please pre-sort items to keep similar items together; for example, box or bag clothes separately from household items
  • Separate clothes by size and bag together; separate men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing into distinct bags or boxes
  • Label bags and boxes (very helpful when we unload trailers)
  • Put a rubber band or zip tie around pairs of shoes, buckle together, or tie laces together
  • Please secure together any items that have multiple parts or pieces: tape items in sets together or package sets together in the same box (for example, tape a lid of a pot to the pot)
  • Wrap fragile items in paper
