2023 Spring TGIW (Thank God it’s Wednesday)
The small group classes of TGIW (Thank God It’s Wednesday) and other small groups are opportunities to grow in faith at St. James. Most classes run from 6 to 7 p.m.
At 5:15 p.m. fellowship dinner meal precedes the classes. The meal is a great time for fellowship.
Communion will begin at 5 p.m. and will be concluded in time for dinner and classes.
Spring TGIW will kick off on January 18. It will run until the week before Holy Week, ending on March 29.

The Ancient Church Fathers and Mothers Speak to a Postmodern World, a reading group led by Dennis Adams;
Disciple I: Becoming Disciples through Bible Study: New Testament, led by Pastor Tom Greener;
“Bad” Women of the Bible, led by Lizabeth Collins;
The Book of Amos, led by Edie Snider;
Contemplative Practices for Stress Relief (two tracks–one for youth called Spiritual Practices for Mental Health–and one for adults), led by Joyce Day and Nicole Franklin;
Parents are People, Too, a self-led class. This class exists to offer space to parents of school aged children to come gather, talk, get work done, explore a hobby, or just enjoy the time with other adults. Space is reserved in the parlor for this class.
Bouncing Disciples, Join Garrett Creef and Daewon Goldenbaum-Yang for some basketball (and possibly other games) in the CLMC, followed by a short devotion connecting sports to our faith (6th grade and up);
Spiritual Practices for Mental Health–an opportunity each Wednesday for youth to do a mental health check-in, engage in a spiritual practice designed to strengthen mental health, and to build a personal tool-kit for when life gets stressful, led by Pastor Laura and Weather Murray (6th grade and up);
Children’s choir–children will play musical games, explore their musical talents, and learn a song to share in worship during the spring. The younger class (ages 3-7) is led by Raychl Smith and the older class (ages 8-11) is led by James Franklin;
Lego Parables explore the stories Jesus told through Legos. Led by Pastor Garrett Rea and Emleigh Appel.
6-6:30 p.m.–ages 3-7 in choir, ages 8-11 in Lego Parables class

Michelle and Emma Myers, Irene Gerow, Tim Messina, and Rochelle Collis will assist in Children’s TGIW. Volunteers are needed at the Children’s Check-in desk.
Nursery is provided for children of grown ups attending classes or leading classes for TGIW beginning at 5:45 p.m.
