Advent Studies

Both Pastor Ben and Pastor Garrett have planned small group studies for Advent.

“Finding Christ in Christmas Movies” from Pastor Ben:

We’ll explore several popular, secular Christmas movies (e.g. “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “A Christmas Story,” “Christmas Vacation”) and look for ways that we can bolster our faith as we enjoy them.

There will be three sessions on Thursdays at 6:30 pm (12/2, 12/9, 12/16).

“The Biblical Character of Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love” from Pastor Garrett:

Advent is a season of waiting for and anticipation of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The traditional themes of the four weeks of Advent are Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love. Each Sunday of Advent, the church remembers how Jesus is the incarnation of God’s hope, joy, peace, and love in our lives and for the sake of the world.

But, how often do we really stop to think about what these words really mean?
How do the Scriptures speak of God’s hope, joy, peace, and love?
How do the Scriptures say Jesus is the manifestation of these lofty words?

Join Pastor Garrett on these Mondays: November 29, December 6, December 13, and December 20 from 11 a.m. to noon on Zoom. No homework necessary. Just bring yourself, your Bible, and your questions!
