St. James UMC has moved to a new configuration of entering the building for services in the Sanctuary. More folks are coming to services in the CLMC. Also, as virtual worship continues, we need more folks to participate in the pre-produced worship services. All of that means we need more volunteers.
Please consider volunteering in one of the following ways:
- Greet people coming to CLMC worship
- Take temperatures of people attending either CLMC or Sanctuary worship
- Read a prayer or deliver a welcome for virtual (online) worship.
For the first two opportunities, please be in touch with Chris Garcia at email@example.com
To read a prayer, simply take video with your phone of you alone or in unison with other members of your family, and recite either
- the Lord’s Prayer or
- the Apostles’ Creed (use the Traditional Version at this link: https://www.umc.org/en/content/apostles-creed-traditional-ecumenical).
Or if you like, simply introduce yourself and say, “Welcome to Worship at St. James United Methodist Church.” Your welcome message can include a short excerpt from a psalm or another verse from Scripture that is meaningful to you. You can also light a candle as you say the words.
After you have recorded the message, email it to Tim Messina at firstname.lastname@example.org. For planning purposes, please contact Chris Garcia at email@example.com to let him know what part of worship you will record for worship.
