International Missions in Guatemala

We have a number of opportunities at St. James, and one of them is our mission to Guatemala. We began our relationship with the people in Guatemala in 2004 and it has been a wonderful one. Shepherded by missionaries Jim and Dianne Thompson, we have developed a network of people who now help us help the people of Guatemala.

Have you thought about going on a mission trip overseas?

We have a number of opportunities at St. James, and one of them is our mission to Guatemala. We began our relationship with the people in Guatemala in 2004 and it has been a wonderful one. Shepherded by missionaries Jim and Dianne Thompson, we have developed a network of people who now help us help the people of Guatemala.

Our week-long trip allows us to provide medical care, eye care, activities for children and women, and experience God’s love along the way. We developed a photo service project at a local nursing home and have expanded our mission to involve a “stove project.”

In addition to the medical clinics that we staff, we host women’s and children’s ministries, install stoves in the community that we serve and undertake other construction type projects.
The cost of last year’s trip was approximately $1250. We are planning on several fundraisers in addition to hosting TGIW dinners at St James. We invite anyone, those with medical skills and those without, to come join us for an informational meeting.
