Tom brings a wealth of experience and scholarship to this position. He received his Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological in Evanston, Illinois; a Master’s in Formative Spirituality from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA; and a Doctor of Divinity in Pastoral Leadership from Wesley Theological in Washington DC.
His ministry began in Western Pennsylvania serving 8 years, before he joined the North Carolina Conference in which he has served for 24 years. He is an avid writer, reader, golfer, and cyclist, and author of the book Finding Our Way: How Ancient Practices Help Us Navigate through Stress, Anxiety, and Alienation.
Tom, and his wife Karen, moved to Greenville the last week of June following a busy month that included the wedding of their son Nathan to Zealy and a 95th birthday celebration for Tom’s mother. Family celebrations continue in August when their daughter Sarah, husband Ryan, and soon to be big sister Lexie welcome their 2nd grandchild.
