New Preaching Series Continues
The Hope to Which You Were Called
Pastor Tom continues the new preaching series this Sunday, July 28, on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.
The theme of the series is “The Hope to Which You Were Called” from Ephesians 1:18. The questions put forth to us in the series are:
- How do we live into our identity as “saints”?
- How do we become the people God has dreamed us to be in every way?
In the second sermon of the series, “Becoming a Dwelling Place for God,” Pastor Tom will preach on Ephesians 2:11-22.
In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God. Ephesians 2:21

Baptism this Sunday
John Andrew Ginski will be baptized this Sunday, July 28, during the 11 a.m. Worship Service in the Sanctuary. His parents are Kelley Haven and Joseph Ginksi. His grandparents are Carol and Andy Haven. John Andrew was born on July 3, 2024.
Try Something Summer
“Try Something Summer,” an effort is to encourage folks at St. James UMC to explore a new area of service or ministry, continues this Sunday, July 28, with Greg MacDaid talking about the ministry of about feeding folks at the Community Crossroads Center homeless shelter. Before the 9 a.m. service, Greg will pass out a sample dish from the breakfast menu the ministry prepares for the shelter.
Upcoming Try Something Summer presentations will focus on communications, office support, greeters and ushers, and other areas of ministry.

Please sign up to use your gifts of welcoming and hospitality at the 9 a.m. service in the CLMC. Here is the LINK to sign up.
The tasks are simple: greeting folks as they come in, giving them a bulletin and contact card and reminding them to complete the card, distributing the offering basket, and dropping the offering in Marianne’s mail slot.
