Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program
St. James UMC Farm and Faith program is in our second year of partnership with a local farmer in the Rural Advancement Foundation International (RAFI) Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. The partnership is a good deal for everyone. Our partner, Robert Jones of Greene County, and other farmers in the program receive a steady source of income and we get fresh produce.
The program is about to enter its second session of the Spring and Summer seasons. The Spring season ends in mid-June. The Summer session is from July 3 through the third week of August.
By purchasing a “share” in the CSA, you will receive one of the boxes of produce that Mr. Jones will bring to the Fellowship Hall each Wednesday afternoon. The boxes will contain whatever has been harvested in a given week: tomatoes, corn, okra, peas, cantaloupes, potatoes, and onions (see full list below).
Cost of the shares are $400.00 per eight-week season ($50 per week). For that amount, you will get a full box that serves three to four people. Half-share boxes are available at a cost of $280.00 ($35 per week for produce that serves one to two people).
