Higher Ed Ministry Welcomes Teachers

The St. James UMC college ministry helped to welcome international teachers coming to serve in the Pitt County Schools last week. The teachers received an enthusiastic welcome from our students, current Pitt County School teachers, and community members.

You might encounter some of the international teachers at St. James events in the coming year. If you do, please welcome them to Greenville.

For more information or to get involved in the Higher Ed ministry at St. James UMC, please email Ann Davis at ardavis9@gmail.com or Lester Zeager at ZEAGERL@ecu.edu.

Global Connections Ministry

Group Performs in New Bern

The recently formed Global Connections Ministry, described in an email to the congregation last month, is all about forming connections between St. James UMC and ECU through the School of Music and the Department of Intercultural Affairs.

The Global Connections Ministry has also extended its reach to the community and to Pitt County Schools.

Last Friday, the Higher Ed Committee helped welcome teachers from all over the world who will teach in Pitt County Schools (see above).

Last Saturday, a newly formed international music group, based here at St. James, performed at the Global Citizenship Music Festival in New Bern. The group takes its name from the ministry, calling themselves Global Connections NC.

The group is led by Victor Ihuka. Victor is the recipient of one of the internships (the other recipient is Jacob McCain) created at St. James to build these connections with ECU and the community. If you would like more information about the Global Connections Ministry, please email Pastor Tom at tom@stjconnect.org.
