Excellence in Student Leadership Award for 2023-24
St. James UMC member Victor Ihuka received the 2023-24 Truist Excellence in Student Leadership Award at ECU last week. The award recognizes a student who has made a positive impact on a NC community or the ECU campus or culture, has participated in activities that emphasize leadership development, and has contributed to the formation and advancement of a student organization. Victor has impressive accomplishments in all of these areas.
The people of St. James know about Victor’s positive impact here. He was one of our captains who led a volunteer group on the Spring Fling Day of Service on April 6. He is very active in the Praise Band that leads music in the contemporary worship services in the CLMC. Victor has helped to attract several international students who now attend St. James UMC.
Also, ECU’s International Student Association, which came back to life this year with Victor’s leadership, was just awarded the student organization of the month by the Office of Student Engagement. |
