Frances Cain

Organist

Frances plays for all the traditional services at St. James. She plays for weddings, funerals and any additional services needed. She really enjoys playing at St. James and working with the staff.  Her goal each week is to do her best to make the worship services meaningful to the congregation.

Frances has been playing church services for a total of 75 years.  She began playing at the age of twelve at her home church Rosemary Methodist in Roanoke Rapids, NC.  She has been the organist at St. James UMC for the last 56 years.  She attended East Carolina College (now ECU) from 1955-1959, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano and organ performance. In 2013, she received the ECU School of Music Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Frances has two sons, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
