Pastor Kuda Kwashe

Associate Pastor of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries

As Pastor of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry, Kuda provides a safe space for children, youth, and families to explore their faith in God and foster relationships with their peers as members of the body of Christ. In youth ministry, he provides curriculum, activities, trips, and leadership opportunities for youth to grow and be active in the church. For children, he helps foster the children to know who Jesus is through the Bible and various engaging activities (children’s message, TGIW music and games, etc.).

Kuda was born in Zimbabwe and moved to Graham, NC in 2002. Cedar Cliff UMC adopted his family for Christmas one year and continued to show love to his family by providing rides to events and youth group.  The church became his home church.  As a result of his experience in this church knowing the love of others and Christ’s love, Kuda developed a passion for children and youth ministry. His dedication to children and youth is that they will have a safe space to explore their faith and feel they can ask any questions they may have openly. He believes this is how Christians should live because Jesus did the same.

Kuda heard his call into ministry from God at the age of 12. He came to understand his call because of his church and conference youth events that helped him to know God’s love and his want to share it with the world.

He graduated high school in 2012.  He received his associate degree in criminal justice in 2016 and his bachelor’s in religious studies from UNCG in 2018. He completed his master’s in divinity (M. Div) from Duke University Divinity School in 2022. He worked as an after-school counselor for about 8 years and as a youth leader for about 6 years. Both positions blessed him with a passion for children and youth ministries.

Kuda is married to Rachel, who currently serves as pastor of Winstead UMC in Wilson, NC.
